    1) Have you or your classmates ever used Letterboxd?
No, we have not ever used it before. We have not heard of it either.
    2) How do you and your friends share your thoughts and recommendations about films?
To communicate film recommendations to our friends, we simply interact in person with them and use the typical channels of communication. For example, if we watch a movie we really like, we are very likely to go tell our friends about it the next time we see them. We could also send our friends a text about the movie if we deem it good enough.

    1. Have you or your classmates ever used Letterboxd?

    – No, we have never used it before, we learned of Letterboxd through this article.

    2. How do you and your friends share your thoughts and recommendations about films?

    – We normally don’t have discussions dedicated to movie reviews, normally the only time we’ll really discuss movies is when we decide which one we want to watch.

    3. Page 12-11 of Wiley’s Financial Accounting: Tools for Business Decision-Making contains an illustration on “Presumed Influence over Investee.” In which category is Tiny’s influence over Letterboxd?

    – Tiny’s influence would fit into the “control” category, since they have purchased over 50% of the company’s shares.

    – By buying over 50% of the company’s shares, Tiny (the investor) takes control over Letterboxd (the investee), and Letterboxd would become a subsidiary company of Tiny, which is the parent company in this case.

-No we have not. This is a new thing for us.

    2) How do you and your friends share your thoughts and recommendations about films?
-As people living close to each other, we like to watch movies together rather than recommend each other movies and watch it on our own. This lets us enjoy each others company and spend time with each other while watching our favorite movies.

-“Victoria, B.C.-based Tiny has not shared what it will pay for the 60 per cent stake it will take in the film diary and rating website.” Tiny states that it will purchase 60% of the company’s shares. According to the illustration, Tiny would have control of Letterboxd.

    1. Our group has not used Letterboxd before.
    2. When sharing thoughts about movies we usually will just text each other about the movie and if we like it or not. Other ways we share thoughts and recommendations is through talking in person.
    3. The influence Tiny has would fall into “Control” This is because they have bought up 60% of shares in Letterboxd making them majority share holders.

I haven’t used Letterboxd and neither have my group members let alone heard of the company.

    2) How do you and your friends share your thoughts and recommendations about films?

Most of the time if my friends and I were to share thoughts and recommendations on movies its in a social gathering and is very informal. Most of the time we end up looking up different movies on our phones and search for info about them through IMDB which would be a competitor.

Since Tiny has aquired 60% of Letterboxd they now have a controlling influence of the company. This aquisition makes Tiny the majority share holder and leading decision makter for Letterboxd.

1)Only one of the group members uses Letterboxd. It’s used to review films, as well as keep track of movies that you have watched and ones that you want to watch. The group member that uses it, continues to use it and update it every time they watch a movie, or want to add a movie to their list of films they want to watch.

2)Usually we just use social media, texting, or just mention our suggestions and thoughts in conversation. Letterboxd is mostly used by people who watch lots of movies, and want to review them extensively, and keep track of those reviews as well as other information about films such as their score, their cast, and more.

3)Tiny’s influence over Letterboxd is in the category of “Control” of the illustration as they
have purchased 60%, or a majority of the company’s shares, which make them the majority shareholder.
